Welcome to coolearth

coolearth wants to help young people to value the earth and also understand how it works. The earth is a system of connected parts, each one needs to be cared for and protected. At present the temperature of the earth is increasing causing climatic problems and great concerns for many people, threatening wildlife and sea life in the oceans.

The world in your hands!

Our lifestyles today are related to many activities that burn carbon. Our food production; travel choices; forms of heating and the clothes we wear are linked to fossil fuel activity. We can measure how much carbon we use using a ‘carbon footprint’ calculator. The results can direct us to be more efficient by altering our lifestyles; especially reducing what we buy and recycling what we have.

World in your hands

Understand your world

It’s widely believed the rise of the earth’s temperature is due to the increased burning of fossil fuels, mainly from using oil, which releases carbon dioxide into the upper atmosphere. This activity has created an invisible blanket barrier around the world trapping more sunlight and heat. As other greenhouse gases are released this blanket is becoming deeper.

Our Products

Using the ecoglobe, the coolearth world poster map or the eco study folders should help show the connection between the earth, oceans, atmosphere and people.

ecoglobe

ecoglobe is a multi-part children’s globe. The ecoglobe shows the land surfaces and the oceans of the earth as if viewed from space or the ISS. It has a detachable see-thru protective cover representing the importance of the atmosphere. It’s possible to mark or label ecoglobe with erasable pens to highlight important world locations. The ecoglobe can come apart to show the structure of the earth from the core to the crust. The earth’s magnetic field can be demonstrated with ecoglobe, using a thin magnet and a compass.

ecoearth poster

ecoearth poster map is a visual world chart. The ecoearth poster map is a bright full colour wall map or it can be used on a table top. Its glossy surface allows it to be written on and is erasable to show places, patterns or boundaries. It can be used to mark important lines of latitude and longitude such as the equator or International Dateline. The ecoearth poster map can be labelled with post-its to show the location of breaking news events. The map can be covered with a ‘cling film’ to show important global patterns and relationships.
